We love sharing our journey through this beautiful life with all of you. I can’t begin to express what your readership means to me. The fact that you take time out of your week to read my posts or follow us on social media fills me with awe and gratitude.
This week I thought I’d share a little bit of what we have been up to as a family lately. We’ve had a rollercoaster of a year like most of you have. Things seem settled down now that we have gotten our new school year rolling. You can check out a post about that here.
Here are my five favorite posts from our Instagram account the last few months. Follow us @trailfamilylife.
This was one of our first times out during the shutdowns for the Covid crisis. The caption reads “A nice family walk on the O&W Rail Trail. These are tough times for families. One silver lining is the extra time we get to spend together. Hit the trail and maintain social distance.” Trail families definitely had a way to blow off steam lockdown steam and keep safe distance at the same time. We for sure took advantage of that!
This year we are working on #300hoursoutside. We set the goal to spend a total of 300 hours being outdoors for this calendar year. We are well on our way and enjoying the time we have. This year will be another squeaker since we have about eighty-five hours to go as of this post! I’m confident that we’ll make it though. Having this goal is a great motivator for me.
One of our best memories from this year is our trip to Vermont. Here we see Lexi swimming in Willoughby Lake below Mount Pisgah. It’s so picturesque it could be a postcard. The hiking, biking, and family time spent together was exactly what our family needed during a trying time. This photo is one that I will cherish for many years to come.
Trail Family hit a milestone this year with our first child reaching double-digit age. We celebrated her 10th birthday with a special breakfast, a dinner out, and a family party a few days later. She is growing into an amazing young lady and we are so thankful to get to be her parents.
Lastly, we have another major milestone in our world. Our church (where my husband is the pastor) celebrated its 20th anniversary! All big occasions call for a crazy face picture. I’ve written before how our church is an integral part of our lives. We love this community of people and are so blessed to have been part of it for the last thirteen of those twenty years.
I hope you enjoyed this little walk down recent memory lane with me. Thank you for reading and following Trail Family. I hope we can share many more memories together.
